Primary Dance UK Routines

How our videos work

Our videos provide instruction for the Key Stage 1 and  Key Stage 2 dance routines in your pack. Also included is an accompanying script and session notes linked to the KS1 and KS2 P.E. National Curriculum. The session notes include ways that pupils can create their own dance steps, shapes and routines.

Taught sections

Our teacher breaks down the dance steps for each section slowly, describing each move. You can pause, re-play or slow down movements as much as you needed. Each section is also described on the script in your resource pack.

Beats and Bars

The teacher then dances all sections together counting in beats and bars. This helps pupils to put sections together a little more quickly as they become more familiar with the moves. It also helps you and the class understand the beat values of each step.

To Music

Finally, pupils will have learnt the steps confidently enough to dance them in time with the music. Pupils can follow the teacher as they step the dance through with the music until finally, they are ready to dance it to a track without the video support.
